U7s (7 year olds) now play in modified Pods format with a focus on small sided games, as per the new WoFP 2.0.

All Saturday game days will be played at the A & P Showgrounds and will run from 9.00am – 10.00am.

CANCELLATIONS

If game day has to be cancelled due to poor weather, that decision will be made by 7:45am on Saturday mornings.  There will also be notices placed on this website, our Facebook page & Team Reach groups.

Players are placed in a ‘Pod’ in which they will play each week over the season, mixed up with children from Drury, Pukekohe & Waiau Pa clubs based on their ages.

On arrival, players go straight to their PODS and line up behind the main POD flag; they will then be given bibs. They will then head off to their field (station) with their game leader to begin their first activity.

U7 PODS Playing & Training

The modied Pod format focuses on small sided games.  Upon arrival, players will be given a coloured bib to wear, and they will play in that coloured team for the day, mixed up with other players from across all of the participating clubs. 

They will play 2-3 games of continuous football.  These games are intended to be free flowing with little or no stoppages ensuring speed of play, maximum involvement by the players with lots of touches on the ball.  The players will then experience lots of success and above all have fun.
