Football Wet Weather Procedure

Football is a winter sport so we do play in wet weather, but sometimes play needs to be cancelled to protect water-logged grounds (as the grass rips up and can't be repaired over the season) or because the weather is wild (or the roads flooded!).

If club admins know about cancellations, we post on Facebook and in Team Reach asap.

Small Whites - if A&P Showgrounds are closed, we will advise on Facebook & Team Reach by 7:45am.

You can also call the ‘Southern Small Whites Wet Weather Line’ and listen to the message: 027 483 4078

Do not message us before 7:45am as we won't know either!

Junior, Youth & Senior Teams

Your games are scheduled by NRF and they advise of cancellations & changes.

We update our Facebook fixtures notice after 5pm Friday once NRF finish their late week changes.

NRF aim to publish game day blanket cancellation notifications by 8am on game days.

If it's wet, double check fixtures yourself before travelling for last minute changes.

The Council 'sports fields closures' website is only for Mon-Fri, it does not cover weekeends.

Please remember that just like you, our admins, coaches & managers also have games to get to, kids to wrangle and are often out at grounds and not online checking communications & websites constantly.
